Dr. Preeti Rebecca Poley is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been in private practice since 2011. She is fellowship trained in Retina and Vitreous Disease and Surgery. She is a highly trained surgeon who performs vitrectomies, laser surgeries, intravitreal injections and various other ocular procedures. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, American Medical Association and American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Poley received her medical degree from the Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. She completed an internship year at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and a residency in ophthalmology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. During her final year of residency, she served as Chief Resident. She then went on to The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where she finished a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery. She was in private practice in the greater Chicagoland area for several years prior to moving to Augusta, Georgia in 2019.

Her clinical interests include diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, macular holes, epiretinal membranes and retinal tears/detachments. She employs specialized techniques such as intravitreal injections, vitrectomy, scleral buckling, pan retinal photocoagulation, prophylactic laser for retinal tears, cryopexy, and pneumatic retinopexy. She has conducted research throughout her training and published in peer-reviewed journals. As an accomplished retina surgeon, she strives to always put the patient first and preserve and restore sight in patients with various disease processes. She performs surgeries at the Augusta Surgery Center in Augusta, GA.

Dr. Poley is welcoming new patients in both locations. Beyond providing you with excellent medical and surgical care, she curtails treatment to individual patient needs and strives to make a personal connection with patients. She is happily married and the proud mother of triplets. She is a committed member of a local church in Evans and enjoys traveling and cooking in her spare time.
